Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Rafael Asencio ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Teleprompter - Cinely mobile application for iOS and when you visit https://cinelyapp.com (the "Website").

We are the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the App and Website, unless stated otherwise below.

1. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • The Teleprompter - Cinely iOS application (the "App")
  • The marketing Website, which is a static informational site with no user accounts and no marketing or analytics cookies in its current version

It does not apply to third-party services you access through links we do not control (for example, Apple's App Store).

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

We may receive information you choose to send us, such as:

  • Support communications — If you email cinelyapp@gmail.com, we receive your email address, message content, and any information you include (for example, device model or iOS version).

We do not require you to create an account on the Website.

2.2 Information collected through the App

Depending on how you use the App, we may process:

  • Scripts and project content — Text you enter for recording projects is stored on your device unless you use a feature that explicitly syncs data elsewhere (if offered in a future version, we will update this policy).
  • Video and audio recordings — Recordings you capture are stored on your device as part of normal App operation.
  • Device permissions — The App may request access to your camera and microphone when you record. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings. We do not access the camera or microphone in the background for unrelated purposes.
  • Subscription status — If you purchase Teleprompter - Cinely Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not receive your full payment card number. We may receive limited subscription or purchase-related information from Apple as permitted by their policies (for example, product identifier, subscription status, or renewal events) to provide Pro features.
  • Subscription management — We use RevenueCat to synchronize in-app purchase and subscription status with Apple's App Store. RevenueCat may process limited purchase-related identifiers (for example, an anonymous app user ID, product identifier, and subscription status) to deliver Pro features. We do not receive your full payment card number.

App usage analytics and diagnostics

To understand how the App is used and to improve stability, we may collect privacy-conscious analytics and crash reports through Google Firebase (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics), when enabled in your build.

Examples of events we may log: app_open, onboarding_completed, paywall_viewed, paywall_dismissed, purchase_started, trial_started, purchase_completed, restore_completed, project_created, recording_started, recording_completed, export_completed, and similar product milestones.

We do not log: script text, recordings, media file paths, payment card data, or cross-app advertising identifiers. The App is not ad-supported and does not use App Tracking Transparency for advertising.

Parameters are limited to non-sensitive context (for example, paywall source, plan type, duration buckets, export format)—never the content of your scripts or videos.

What we collect through these tools may also include:

  • Product interaction events (for example: app opened, onboarding completed, paywall viewed or dismissed, purchase or trial started, project created, recording started or completed, export completed, restore completed)
  • Technical diagnostics (for example: crash stack traces, app version, device model, OS version)
  • Non-sensitive contextual parameters (for example: paywall entry source, subscription plan type, recording duration bucket, export format)

What we do not collect through these tools:

  • Script text or project content you enter
  • Video or audio recordings
  • File paths to your media
  • Payment card details
  • Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking — we do not use the App for ads and do not request App Tracking Transparency for advertising purposes

2.3 Information collected automatically on the Website

The current version of the Website:

  • Does not use marketing or analytics cookies
  • Does not offer login or registration
  • May process standard server or hosting logs (for example, IP address, user agent, requested URL) through our hosting provider (GitLab Pages) for security and delivery. Those logs are governed by the host's policies.

2.4 Information we do not collect on the Website

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of data through the Website. We do not sell your personal data.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and Website
  • Respond to support requests
  • Manage subscriptions and Pro features through Apple's systems
  • Analyze aggregated, privacy-conscious App usage to improve features and stability (when Firebase is enabled)
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
  • Protect the security and integrity of our services

Our legal bases under the GDPR (where applicable) may include contract performance (providing the App), legitimate interests (support, security, improvement), and legal obligation.

4. Sharing of information

We may share information only in limited circumstances:

  • Apple — For in-app purchases, subscriptions, and App Store distribution
  • RevenueCat — Subscription and purchase entitlement synchronization (see Section 2.2)
  • Google (Firebase) — Privacy-conscious product analytics and crash reporting when the App is configured with Firebase (see Section 2.2)
  • Service providers — Hosting or infrastructure providers that process data on our instructions (for example, static site hosting)
  • Legal requirements — When required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect rights and safety

We do not sell personal data.

5. International transfers

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), your data may be processed within the EEA or in countries deemed adequate by the European Commission, or with appropriate safeguards where required.

6. Retention

  • Support emails — Retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping, unless a longer period is required by law.
  • On-device App data — Controlled by you on your device; uninstalling the App removes local data subject to iOS behavior and any iCloud or backup settings you use.
  • Hosting logs — Retained according to our hosting provider's default periods.
  • Analytics and crash data — Retained according to Google Firebase default retention settings and our configuration.

7. Your rights (EEA / UK / similar jurisdictions)

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase data in certain cases
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability where applicable
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos — AEPD)

8. Children's privacy

The App and Website are not directed at children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on https://cinelyapp.com/privacy with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the App where appropriate.
